"I have been captivated by cars and trucks from as early as I can remember. This interest was not just limited to driving alone. My main interest was in the engine under the hood. I think the internal combustion engine is one of the greatest inventions ever created. In High school I bought a 1972 Buick Skylark and quickly became immersed in restoring it and it still sleeps in my garage today.
Over the past 20 years I have had the privilege of repairing hundreds of vehicles both in the professional setting and anywhere they happen to break down. I began focused on domestic models but after a short stint living in the Boston area I have become very knowledgable with foreign cars also, specifically Saabs and Volvos. This passion continues to grow and has brought about the inception of Mack Garage.
My family and I came to the East side of Detroit in 2007. We came with other families and began Mack Avenue Community Church. We believe that this community needs resources reinvested to once again become a great place. Mack Garage is an attempt to do that by offering excellent automotive repair services. I am excited about teaching you how to properly maintain your vehicle which will in the end save you lots of money avoiding costly repairs.
So whether it’s advice you seek or a long term honest mechanic you have come to the right place!"
"My passion for automotive repair really began with boats. When I was 13 my dad and I built an 8’ powerboat. The boats turned into motorcycles when I was 15, at which time I started refurbishing vintage Japanese motorcycles. Motorcycles then grew into cars when life circumstances dictated my need for my own car.
Believing that cars aren’t too different from motorcycles I set out to make a raggedy 1987 Volkswagen Scirocco road worthy once again. Well, I was wrong about the comparison between cars and motorcycles, but was hooked nonetheless.
For me the heart of automotive repair lies in the fact that we are taking something broken and restoring it to function the way it was originally designed to. This philosophy is what excites me each day at Mack Garage, as we seek to provide affordable repair services with integrity, and bring restoration to our local community."
