Tour The Mack Garage

Here are a few photos to help you get acquainted with our garage.

While our address is clearly marked on the street side of our shop, access to the garage is actually from the alley in the rear of the building (see building entrance photo).

This provides us with safe, ample customer parking and storage for vehicles as we work on them. Once you step inside, you’ll find the check-in counter and waiting room on your left where you will be able to discuss your needs and wait for your work to be performed.

At last, a trustworthy car repair shop to keep my old car running! I go there for everything now, even oil changes. Such a great feeling. They work fast and the prices are very reasonable. I bought their tshirt and wear it when I bring my car in, lol. I have 191,000 miles on my baby.

If I could give more stars, I would! Refreshing, honest, and quick service. The work my car required was something that the garage doesn't specialize in so they referred me to another place - saved me lots of money. If you don't have a go-to garage - look no further. This place is it.

Wherever I move to a new city I always struggle to find a garage that I trust. I don’t know a lot about cars, so I’m slightly paranoid of being up-sold for services I don’t need. So when my car broke down a few months after moving to Detroit, I was very lucky to find Mack Garage based on all the positive reviews I read online. When I took my car to another garage first, they quoted me $1,700 for the fix, with a laundry list of issues that didn’t seem related. At Mack Garage, they said they could do it for $300, did the work quickly, and were great to work with. Most recently, my brakes were grinding and I was able to get my car in that day, and they had it fixed by the next afternoon, despite being extremely busy. Overall, extremely fair prices and great guys running the shop. Can’t recommend them enough to anyone in the Detroit area!

Nate and Eric are amazing! They're honest and will always give a fair price. The amount of times that they have told me not to do something to save me money vs. makes them money has made me a forever customer.

"I have been captivated by cars and trucks from as early as I can remember. This interest was not just limited to driving alone. My main interest was in the engine under the hood. I think the internal combustion engine is one of the greatest inventions ever created. In High school I bought a 1972 Buick Skylark and quickly became immersed in restoring it and it still sleeps in my garage today.

Over the past 20 years I have had the privilege of repairing hundreds of vehicles both in the professional setting and anywhere they happen to break down. I began focused on domestic models but after a short stint living in the Boston area I have become very knowledgable with foreign cars also, specifically Saabs and Volvos. This passion continues to grow and has brought about the inception of Mack Garage.

My family and I came to the East side of Detroit in 2007. We came with other families and began Mack Avenue Community Church. We believe that this community needs resources reinvested to once again become a great place. Mack Garage is an attempt to do that by offering excellent automotive repair services. I am excited about teaching you how to properly maintain your vehicle which will in the end save you lots of money avoiding costly repairs.

So whether it’s advice you seek or a long term honest mechanic you have come to the right place!"
